Grand Teton Music Festival has announced Simon Woods has been named Interim Executive Director, starting on February 24th. Music Director Donald Runnicles praised the selection, noting that he and Woods have been colleagues for many years both in North America and Europe, and are extremely excited to work together in Jackson Hole. With Woods’ arrival, the Festival board is launching their search for a permanent Executive Director. Woods’ experience ranges from his most recent position as CEO of the Los Angeles Philharmonic after seven years as the Seattle Symphony’s President and CEO, six years as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s Chief Executive, a year with the New Jersey Symphony, and seven years at The Philadelphia Orchestra. This year’s Grand Teton Music Festival season takes place from July 3rd to August 22nd.
