Cooler, wet weather has prompted Yellowstone National Park to downgrade the fire rating there to moderate. As such, there are no fire restrictions currently in place. However, campfires are still only permitted within fire rings in campgrounds and at some backcountry campsites. Park officials remind visitors that all campfires must be cold to the touch before abandoning them. Soak, stir, feel, and repeat until cold. In Grand Teton National Park, Bridger-Teton National Forest and Teton County, the fire danger is still considered high, although the Stage 1 fire restrictions in the area were lifted one week ago.
