Yellowstone National Park announced yesterday the selection of Yellowstone Park Service Stations, Inc. as the concessioner for a new contract to provide automotive and retail services in the park. This contract will go for 10 years until October 31, 2033.
It does not represent much of a change in the park as Yellowstone Park Service Stations has provided automotive and retail services in the park since the 1980s.
The solicitation of concession opportunities within parks, and the selection of best proposals are routine processes for in the National Park Service.
By law, all contracts are issued through a fully open and competitive process, awarding contracts to those with the best proposal.
