Interagency firefighters joined with Jackson Hole Fire/EMS personnel and an interagency helicopter to suppress a fire near Red Top Meadows on south Fall Creek Road, which flared up about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. The fire was doused before dark. Fire Marshal Kathy Clay says the firemay have been the delayed result of a lightning strike earlier this week, but human causes have not been ruled out. Firefighters were able to hold the fire to about one acre of aspen and sagebrush. No structures were threatened although there were houses not far from the site. Forest officials are looking for two other fires nearby that were seen torching last night on the front of the same hillside.
