The National Transportation Safety Board’s report regarding their investigation into a 2019 plane crash that killed nine members of an Idaho Falls family, including the chief executives of Conrad-Bischoff Oil Company, states that the plane was 107 pounds overweight and had not been properly deiced.
Jim Hansen Sr. and his sons Kirk and Jim Jr. were among the nine who died in that crash. Pilot Kirk Hansen was taking off from Chamberlain, South Dakota during what witnesses described as a blizzard on November 30th as they were returning to Idaho from a hunting trip.
Here in Jackson, Conrad-Bischoff operates a long-established bulk distribution site near the intersection of Broadway and Wyoming Highway 22. The Hansen’s were very active in community affairs in Idaho Falls.
