A tragic incident occurred at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort when an 81-year-old male skier passed away following a fall on the Sun Dog ski trail.
At approximately 9:13 a.m. on January 25, the Jackson Hole Ski Patrol (JHSP) received a report of an unconscious skier on the trail. The skier was skiing alone at the time of the incident, and no other individuals were involved. JHSP responded rapidly, reaching the scene within two minutes at 9:15 a.m.
The skier was quickly transported to St. John’s Clinic in Teton Village by 9:30 a.m., but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced deceased later that day at St. John’s Medical Center.
Mary Kate Buckley, CEO of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, expressed her condolences, stating, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.”
This incident serves as a somber reminder of the inherent risks associated with skiing and the importance of safety awareness on the slopes.
