Air service in and out of Jackson Hole has expanded once again this winter with more cities nationwide being served with direct flights than in the past. Airport Executive Director Jim Elwood says there will be improved access available for locals to take trips to a warmer climate or see family elsewhere, and for visitors to enjoy some of the best skiing there is to be had anywhere. Elwood says there will be 15 destinations on the route map including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Newark, and Minneapolis. Consequently Elwood says, “We’re pretty jazzed about what that’s going to mean for the community overall.” Flights will primarily be provided by American, Delta and United with the expanded schedule set to begin December 19th. Elwood says compared with any mountain resort in the country, and perhaps around the world this level of service is really remarkable. He credits the work of JH Air which is the air service development arm for the valley. Once again, Elwood says the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce will be greeting arriving passengers with orange juice and mimosas which he believes it launches a tremendous experience while they’re visiting our community and surrounding area.
