Jackson Hole Airport will be receiving more than $2.5-million from the U.S. Department of Transportation thanks to additional funds that are being awarded to airports nationwide. D.O.T Secretary Elaine Chao announced that the Federal Aviation Administration will award an additional $972-million in Airport Improvement Program 622 grants June 24th and July 5th, of which $10.4-million will be awarded to 8 airports and to the state of Wyoming. This is in addition to $9.5-million awarded to 10 airports in Wyoming June 5. Jackson Hole Airport’s share of the money this round will be used to improve the access road into the airport. The grant funding will be administered by the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division.
