Teton County Search and Rescue volunteers, aided by the search and rescue helicopter responded to help an injured skier just south of the Teton Pass parking area Friday afternoon. After assessing the skier’s injuries and terrain, it was decided to do a helicopter short-haul to bring the injured skier to safety. The injured skier was air lifted to the lower parking area on the pass, with the team completing the mission in less than three hours. Identity of the patient or the extent of her injuries were not immediately available. The rescue involved an all-female short-haul operation for the first time in the organization’s history. Of the 36 members at TC-SAR, seven are women who, the organization points out, are integral to the team’s success.
