Longtime Jackson resident Scott Anderson has thrown his hat into the ring for the Jackson Town Council, a position he held from 1992 to 2006. Anderson has also served on numerous local, state, and national boards, including the Historical Society, Community Housing Trust, Lower Valley Energy, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Arriving in Jackson in 1990 as a DJ and station manager for KMTN and KSGT, Anderson oversaw the growth of Jackson Hole Radio and now owns the company, which includes KJAX and KZJH. He is the former chair of the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.
Anderson said the town is facing a serious budget shortfall but noted that the town shouldn’t make it harder on our local homeowners and renters who are burdened by high property taxes. “Budget priorities should not revolve around tax increases, and I would vote no on tax increases for the residents of Jackson. We need to continue to find solutions for the housing issues in the valley and work to preserve neighborhoods at the same time. We also have to address the traffic and transportation challenges that we face,” Anderson said.
