Interagency firefighters responded to a new wildfire located on the Kemmerer Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest Wednesday. The Spring Creek Fire is located 2.5 miles east of La Barge Creek Guard Station in the Wyoming Range. Currently, the Spring Creek Fire is approximately 0.5 acres in size, and is burning in heavy dead and down timber. While fire managers develop a strategy for every fire, which includes management for resource benefits or for full suppression, the Spring Creek Fire was determined to be human caused, and so a full suppression strategy will be implemented. Local resources responding to this fire included a helicopter and two engines. This fire currently remains under investigation. There are no road or trail closures as a result of this fire.
