Round two of the COVID-adjusted elk antler auction conducted annually by the local Boy Scout district is being held this Saturday.
The 54th Annual BSA Elk Antler Auction could not be conducted in May this year, due to COVID concerns. Instead, the auction was held online on October 2nd, which was very successful, according to District Chairman Cliff Kirkpatrick. However, there was not the time and resources to include all of the antlers in that auction. So, “Round 2” is being held tomorrow.
This time many matched pairs will be featured and the carry-over of many unsold pairs from last year’s antler collection, as well as those collected this year will be included. Viewing of the lots that will be sold will be available beginning at 7:00 am Saturday at the Lodge of Jackson Hole Conference Center on West Broadway.
Priority for entrance to view the antler will be given to those who are registered for the online auction. Additionally, the number of people being permitted in to view the antlers at any given time will be limited as necessary. So far, Kirkpatrick says, the yield from the auction has been comparable with previous years.
