The Afton Municipal Airport is receiving $90,000 to reconstruct their taxiway, and the Ralph Wenz Field in Pinedale will have $1.9 million to reconstruct apron and taxiway. The grants are part of $9.5 million being awarded to 10 airports in Wyoming by the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA typically awards between $30-35 million to Wyoming airports each year and the state gives an average of $8.5-million yearly to match federal and/or local funds for airport development. While Jackson Hole Airport was not included in this round of FAA grants, the FAA awarded the Jackson Hole Airport a grant for $2.5-million last August to repave the access road along with other related infrastructure projects.
