Rainfall has caused mud to slide in the Glory View subdivision of Melody Ranch, leading to a ditch failure and flooding, currently affecting approximately six homes in the subdivision. The initial blockage of the ditch has been alleviated, but continuing rain is likely to cause additional issues.
The Teton County Sheriff’s Office, Teton County Road & Levee, Teton Conservation District, Lower Valley Energy, Grant Teton Property Management, and Westwood Curtis Excavators are all on the scene working to divert water and mud, assist homeowners, and mitigate the situation. Jackson Hole Fire/EMS is currently working to supply additional sandbags for the area.
All area residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution on the road and near waterways, and practice flood safety: “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”.
