This weekend’s storms have brought copious amounts of snow and with it, increased avalanche danger to the high country.
A skier-triggered avalanche was recorded Friday in Thanksgiving Bowl and at 3:00 pm Saturday, one snowboarder south of Teton Pass was caught and carried 800 feet and partially buried. Another skier-triggered avalanche was reported Saturday on Ellie Summit. Fortunately, none of the unnamed recreationists were injured in the incidents.
Currently, the avalanche conditions in the Teton Range and along the continental divide are listed as critical.
According to the Bridger Teton Avalanche Center, total snowfall measured at the Raymer plot at 9300 feet now totals 73 inches.
