While many of the nation’s hospitals are reaching capacity for taking care of COVID-19 patients, St. John’s Health Center in Jackson was informed that Eastern Idaho Regional Health Center in Idaho Falls and several hospitals along the Wasatch Range have made a commitment to be available for necessary transfers of St. John’s Health patients. CEO Dr. Paul Beaupre says while the local hospital is committed to being prepared to depend on local resources and capabilities to take care of our patients, this development is very welcome news. Dr. Beaupre says with encouragement and leadership from elected officials, Teton County appears to be flattening the curve by practicing physical distancing and sheltering at home. Dr. Beaupre says this is a community-wide effort and he is confident that we will get through this together.
