Bouchard removed from Committee Assignments in Wyoming Legislature

Wyoming Senate voted 19-10.  on Thursday to remove Senator Anthony Bouchard (SD-06) from committee assignments in the Wyoming Legislature.

 “This behavior is not the Wyoming way,” said Senate President Dan Dockstader. “It is of utmost importance that we uphold decorum and civility in the Legislature. That is the expectation of all our members. Anything less is a distraction from the important work we are doing for the people of Wyoming.”

Republican leadership of the Wyoming Senate said that the action was warranted due to Bouchard’s history of disorderly behavior of repeated support of vulgar and threatening attacks on members of the Senate.

“Senator Bouchard has every right to exercise his First Amendment rights,” stated Senate Vice President Larry Hicks. “However, with all rights comes responsibilities. Senator Bouchard has failed to recognize this responsibility as an elected member of the Wyoming Legislature.”

Senator Bouchard was removed from the committees of Agriculture, State and Public Lands and Water Resources, Labor, Health and Social Services,  and Management Audit for what was called a continued pattern of intimidating and disorderly conduct and other behavior which is unbecoming of a member of this Senate.
