They did it! The stats, the lopsided scores, the dismal losing streak—suddenly all erased, of little concern. The Broncs have finally posted a ‘W’ and the winless drought is halted at 30.
The Broncs busted out in fashion as they used a young Pinedale team as their whipping post, notching a 79-60 victory over the Wranglers Friday night. Jackson did it by committee. No less than six players posted double-figure scoring totals. Gavin Keelin’s four 3-pointers helped him to 18 on the night to lead all Broncs scorers. He did most of his damage in the 2nd half, stepping in for fellow freshman Andrew Hanna who dominated the boards with a team-high 11 rebounds, adding 11 points, until foul trouble grounded him later in the game.
Senior Gavin Brunner kicked in 14 and Sam Lopeman had 11. Henry Berezay had the best game of his Broncs’ career with 12 pts, 4 boards. He also drained two big treys down the stretch. Rowan Bruno also had a breakout game. The shooting guard kicked in 12.
The win, broadcast on KZ95 FM, brings the Jackson boys to 1-5 on the season after a loss Thursday night against Teton, 67-38. Next up for Jackson is a home game with Star Valley (2-6) this Friday to begin conference play.
