Spring Burn Week in the town of Jackson has been begun over the weekend and continues through Monday, May 25th. During Spring Burn Week, the citizens of the Town of Jackson are encouraged to act responsibly and at all times, control their burns including only dry grass, leaves, twigs, small branches, and clean wood. In doing so, Jackson/Teton County Fire Marshal Kathy Clay reminds homeowners that neighborhood yards are much closer to each other than they are in the county, so considerable caution must be exercised.
Clay recommends creating two smaller piles: one to actually burn and the second for materials to feed into the burning pile. As in the county, town residents wishing to conduct a controlled burn must first contact the Jackson Hole Law Enforcement Agency at 733-2331 prior to striking that match
