With the disappearing of the snow cover, it is the time when residents begin cleaning up around the valley. While actual clean up week in Jackson Hole doesn’t begin until Monday, residential yard waste burn week begins Saturday and continues through May 15th.
Those planning to burn are asked to contact Teton County Dispatch before burning at 733-2331. When burning, precautions should be made to assure only that which is intended to burn, will. With that in mind, burn piles cannot be larger than 10 by 10 by 10, and only clean wood can be burned.
Make sure what is being burned should be at least 25 feet from any structure, and have a water supply available to control the fire and fully extinguish it once the burning is completed. Finally, those conducting a burn should remain attendance the entire time it is burning.
