The Wyoming Business Council is seeking public comment on administrative procedures for a new broadband grant program by 3 p.m. Thursday.
A copy of the procedures can be found at wyomingbusiness.org/broadband or by clicking here.
The procedures detail eligible applicants for grant money, what information will be required in grant applications, the public hearing process and more.
The Wyoming Legislature allocated $10 million to create a broadband infrastructure grant program and directed the Business Council, the state’s economic development agency, to develop an enhancement plan, inventory map and appoint a Broadband Advisory Council to oversee the process.
The draft Broadband Enhancement Plan can be found by clicking here.
The mission is to move Wyoming to a position of leadership in the new digital world by ensuring the state’s citizens and businesses have access to affordable, reliable, redundant and future-proof broadband internet that exceeds defined standards by no later than 2023.
The Business Council Board of Directors will meet at 9 a.m. Friday to discuss the state’s broadband plan, the administrative procedures for a broadband grant program and other items.
For more information, call Broadband Manager Russ Elliott at 307-777-6430, or email him at russ.elliott@wyo.gov.
