Marti Halverson has been listed among the three choices given to Governor Mark Gordon by the Wyoming Republican Central Committee to fill out the remainder of Jillian Balow’s term as Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Halverson is the state representative out of Etna in Star Valley serving the communities of Alpine, Star Valley Ranch, Etna, Freedom, Nordic Ranches, Hoback, Wilson, Bondurant and Daniel. Also on the list are Thomas Kelly, chair of the Department of Political and Military Science at American Military University, and Brian Schroeder, who is head of Cody’s Veritas Academy, which is a private Christian school.
Balow announced her resignation earlier this month to accept an offer to serve in that role in Virginia. She will leave her office the end of this month.
