On the evening of December 20, 2024, a single vehicle crash occurred on US26 in Bonneville County, prompting an investigation by the Idaho State Police (ISP). The incident took place at milepost 375, west of Swan Valley.
At approximately 11:06 p.m., ISP troopers arrived at the scene where a white 2000 GMC Yukon, driven by a 41-year-old woman from St Anthony, was involved in an accident. The vehicle, carrying a juvenile passenger, failed to navigate a curve on the highway, leading to the vehicle entering the water.
Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital for treatment via ground ambulance. Notably, neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Swan Valley Fire Department, Bonneville County Sheriff, and the Idaho Falls Fire Ambulance, showcasing a coordinated response to ensure the safety and medical attention of those involved.
The investigation by the Idaho State Police into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
