The sights and sounds on the town square tonight will be a familiar experience for most of Jackson’s residents, as hundreds join the count down for the ceremonial Christmas lighting there.
The annual event takes place with carols led by an ensemble from the Jackson Hole Community Band and members of Jackson Hole Chorale. Thousands of LED bulbs bring the famous Antler Arches to life and countless lights will adorn the trees throughout the square.
Those in attendance can enjoy cookies and hot chocolate distributed by boy scouts and the lighting is traditionally followed by the arrival Santa with help from the Jackson Hole Fire & EMS and Police Department. He will visit with children until about 7:00 pm. The lighting also serves as the kick-off of second annual Winter Windfall when the Chamber of Commerce will give out free tickets to the first 500 attendees for the promotion’s prize drawing.
