The Wyoming Highway Patrol, which is tasked with providing security for the state capitol building, has a heightened presence there today in response to an FBI warning for all states to be alert to possible “storming” of Federal and State facilities in connection with the inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden.
Despite the precautions, state officials are optimistic that the day will remain peaceful in the Cowboy State given the peaceful nature of recent demonstrations on the capitol grounds. None-the-less, the patrol is in communication with the Cheyenne Police Department as well as the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office in the event the patrol would to need extra help.
