Council Chambers at Jackson Town Hall Closed for Upgrades This December

Important Updates on Town Operations and Meeting Locations

The Council Chambers at Town Hall are undergoing essential updates this month to the audio visual system, which has not seen a full renovation since 1998. Over the past twenty-seven years, the Town’s IT team has maintained the system through minor adjustments and careful resource management. These modernizations will ensure compatibility with current technologies, keep Council meetings accessible, and bring the space into compliance for hosting Municipal Court starting in the New Year. The upgrades are integral to supporting efficient Town operations.

Relocated Town Council Meetings

While construction is underway, Town Council meetings will be held at the Teton County Library. This includes the workshop at 1:30 PM and the regular meeting at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 15th, as well as a special meeting on strategic budgeting on Tuesday, December 16th. These changes allow Town business to continue without interruption during the updates. Transition to Hosting Municipal Court

Due to the demolition of the Clifford Hansen Courthouse amid construction of the new Justice Center, the Town will begin hosting Municipal Court in the Council Chambers in 2026. Weekly court sessions, hearings, and trials will proceed as scheduled on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The current renovations include necessary modifications to accommodate court functions. New Security Measures for Court Sessions

Starting January 7th, 2026, whenever Municipal Court is in session, Police Department bailiffs will conduct security screenings in the lobby of Town Hall. On Wednesdays during court hours, anyone entering the Council Chambers will need to pass through metal detectors. These measures ensure safety while maintaining public access to Town facilities.
