While Teton County is still rated in the Red, or high-risk category for COVID transmission, the Teton County Health Department says the rate is declining slightly. Spokesperson Rachael Wheeler says, “We are hoping to be optimistic, but we seem to be seeing cases decrease. Granted they are still high but we are heading in the correct directions again.” Earlier this month, case counts had significantly exceeded the previous all-time high seen in January 2021.
Still, even as cases may be beginning to decline, the county health department urged residents to wear the best mask you have in public indoor settings including but not limited to schools, childcare facilities, restaurants, bars, movie theaters, grocery stores, retail stores, aerial trams, gondolas, and workplaces. Consider wearing a mask in crowded outdoor setting and for activities with close contact with others who are not fully vaccinated.
