The second person in a car from Riverton that was involved in a head-on collision one week earlier in Grand Teton National Park has succumbed to her injuries. The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 78-year-old Dorothy Ashby of Riverton died Monday from injuries she sustained in the crash. She was a passenger in the Nissan Xterra driven by 68-year-old Carol Roemer, who died enroute to the hospital.According to a Wyoming Highway Patrol report, a2019 Dodge Caravan being driven by 64-year-old Craig Aubuchon of Missouri was traveling southbound on US 89 when he drifted into the northbound lane colliding head-on with a 2010 Nissan X-Terra driven by Roemer. All four passengers in Aubuchon’s car have since been released from the hospital. Driver distraction or fatigue on the part of Aubuchon is being investigated as possibly contributing to the crash. Ashby’s death marks the 93rdtraffic fatality in Wyoming this year.
