Park officials are urging visitors to avoid the area, stay alert for emergency vehicles, and follow directions from rangers and fire personnel to ensure safety. The fire, producing smoke visible from Jackson Lake Dam and Jackson Lake Lodge, has drawn a robust response, with approximately 35 personnel on the scene, including two fire engines, a Type 1 helicopter, and a Type 3 helicopter. T
he park has also reminded visitors that flying recreational drones in Grand Teton National Park or near wildland fires is illegal, as it can interfere with firefighting efforts. This incident follows a trend of heightened fire activity in the Teton Interagency zone, with the fire danger rating currently at HIGH due to dry conditions, as noted in recent Teton Interagency Fire updates.
Visitors are encouraged to check for updates on park conditions and closures at nps.gov/grte or by contacting the park at (307) 739-3399. Additional information on the Signal Mountain fire will be released as it becomes available
