Afton Wyoming this weekend will host a rebirth of the annual Cutter Races. Hosted by the local Shrine Club, the annual event has raised well over $½-million over the years to the Shriners’ Hospital in Salt Lake City to provide free care for children with crippling conditions. The races are being held at the Lincoln County fairgrounds in Afton Saturday and Sunday with the pre-race Calcutta being hosted at Dad’s Bar and Steakhouse in Thane. Everett points out that this is one of very few professional sports that take place in Wyoming. Everett says this year there are 20 teams expected from throughout Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. General admission for the public is $5 at the gate.
