CWD Dump Rules In Force

Changes in wild game disposal protocols have been put into effect at the Trash Transfer Station due to a recent positive Chronic Wasting Disease test in Teton County. Last month, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Wildlife Health Laboratory confirmed that an adult buck mule deer from Grand Teton National Park tested positive for CWD. The deer had been struck by a vehicle and tissue samples had been collected by National Park Service personnel and submitted for testing. Recent positive results for mule deer in Star Valley and Pinedale also found cases of CWD in 2017. As a result, all hunters or other individuals intending on disposing of whole or partial wild game carcasses should bag them in plastic, and make the scale attendant aware upon arrival at Trash Transfer Station.  For detailed questions call Teton County Solid Waste and Recycling. Information is also available the Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling website.
