About three months ago, Jackson encountered problems with sewer blockage due to improper items being flushed down the toilet. At that time, the primary culprit was so-called flushable wipes, which as it turns out really aren’t all that flushable. With more attention to the use of sanitary wipes brought on by preventive measures in the fight against coronavirus exposure, more inappropriate items may be finding themselves into the town’s sewer lines. The Town of Jackson asks that you to spread the word to everyone you know not to put “Wet Wipes” or disinfectant wipes into the toilet; even if they are labeled “flushable” or “septic safe.”
