COVID-19 cases have taken their toll on the Driggs Elementary School. The Teton School District 401 board of trustees determined that the school should be closed today and tomorrow because of a shortage of staff. There is no school on Friday either because of a previously scheduled professional development day. The school administrators will determine over the weekend whether or not Driggs Elementary school will reopen on Monday. During Monday’s School board meeting, trustees removed specific numbers from the school reopening plan adopted last August, adopting a higher-risk level aimed at keeping the schools open more. School Superintendent Monte Woolstenhulme emphasized that the district is responding with its protocols as soon as information is received from a parent or staff member regarding a positive case or possible exposure, not waiting for confirmation from Eastern Idaho Public Health.
