Yesterday’s weather outside Dubois proved to be dangerous even for the rescuers. The Dubois Fire Department responded with an Engine and Rescue unit to a report of a vehicle accident roll over on U.S. Hwy 26 near Togwotee Pass Saturday afternoon – but that response quickly turned out to be rather problematic. Fire units arrived on scene and found single vehicle on its roof blocking the West bound lane, and fortunately there were no injuries. However, immediately upon arrival, Dubois fire units were notified of a second vehicle accident roll over; this one involving the Ambulance that was responding to the first incident. All Dubois Fire units responded to that incident and found an ambulance on it’s side partially blocking the East bound lane of Hwy 26. The crew of the Ambulance was not injured in the incident. Fire units remained on scene to assist with traffic control until the wreck could be cleared and an EMS supervisor arrived on scene. At the time of both incidents, the Highway was slick with packed snow and a moderate snow fall.
