East Entrance Supposed To Open

When Yellowstone National park is slated to open the East Entrance to the park for the season, motorists should not consider it to be a “done deal.” Park officials advise that a significant snowpack still exists in the Sylvan Pass area and as such, park rangers will monitor avalanche conditions. Those conditions may require temporary closures to occur. Those traveling from the East Entrance to the Grand Loop should also be aware that construction between Fishing Bridge and Indian Pond will lead to delays of up to 30 minutes. The Canyon Visitor Center, general store and service station are open at this time and the Old Faithful general store, Old Faithful Inn and Bear Paw Deli, and service station is to open Friday. Other facilities in the park have not yet opened for the season. The South Entrance is the last entrance to the park to be opened, and that is slated for Friday, May 10th.
