This year’s EcoFair in Jackson did not look like the traditional event seen here for nearly 20 years. The Jackson EcoFair, hosted by Energy Conservation Works, usually featured sustainability-oriented booths, live music, local food, demonstrations, kids’ activities, recycling education, and more.
However, for the second year in a row the public event was not staged on the 2nd Saturday in May, but participants have observed it in different ways. Those include an education and engagement online every Thursday for five weeks at EcoTalks series, participation in the annual spring clean-up around the community, entry in the EcoFair Community Sustainability Challenge in which participants log their daily environmental-friendly activities for a variety of prizes, and nominations of outstanding sustainability leadership.
A complete line-up of this year’s activities can be found at jacksonecofair.org.
