Jackson Hole is to become the center of world economic policy once again next month. The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Economic Policy Symposium is one of the longest-standing central banking conferences in the world, and brings together economists, financial market participants, academics, U.S. government representatives and news media to discuss long-term policy issues of mutual concern. This year’s topic is “Challenges for Monetary Policy.” The annual meeting is set for August 22ndthrough the 24that Jackson Lake Lodge. The goal of the Economic Policy Symposium when it began was to provide a vehicle for promoting public discussion and exchanging ideas. Throughout the event’s history in Jackson Hole, attendees from 70 countries have gathered to share their diverse perspectives and experiences.
