Election Results

November 7, 2018 by Jackson Hole Radio

11, 852 voters participated in Tuesday’s election in Teton County and elected two-new Town Councilors, three County Commissioners, and sealed the deal on the local option Lodging Tax.

Jon Schechter and Arne Jorgensen will join the Jackson Town Council after defeating incumbent Don Frank and challenger Jess Chambers.

Sitting County Commissioner Mark Newcomb, Luther Probst, and former Mayor Mark Barron won the three contested seats on the county board.

The Lodging Tax, which may have been the marquis issue on the ballot, won with impressive support.

Matt Carr will fill the Sheriff’s position, replacing retiring Jim Whalen.

Mike Yin won Wyoming House District 16, while Andy Schwartz was reelected to serve as representative for HD-23.

Mike Gierau was elected as State Senator in District 17.

The School Board election saw Alan Brumsted, Keith Gingery, and Janine Teske with their races while Hospital Board winners were Joe Albright, Linda Aurelio, Elizabeth Masek, and Michael Tennican.

Melissa Shinkle won the County Assessor race.

Early and absentee voting totals accounted for about half of the voter turnout.
