Members of the community will gather this Saturday night at the Jackson Elks Lodge to help raise money to defray medical costs for a child battling brain cancer. Four-year old Jasper Dean Mazzocco is the grandson of long-time residents JD and Christi Dutro. Jasper has spent the last three months at UC Davis Children’s Hospital in Sacramento, California where he has had seven brain surgeries and is scheduled for his third round of six chemotherapy treatments. Specialists say Jasper’s cancer is a rare form of tumor called Neuroblastoma PNET. The dinner at the Elks Lodge costs $20 for adults and $10 for children, and will be accompanied by the 80’s band “86” with silent and live auction items. All proceeds are going to Jasper’s medical expenses. The Saturday event begins at 6:00 pm. A donation bank account for Jasper has also been set up at First Interstate Bank under “Fight Like Jasper.”
