Teton County Parks and Recreation has announced that the levee north of Emily Stevens Park will close May 1st through June 15th, but will be open for public use on Sundays during that period. The county is building a gravel stockpiling facility there for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for levee maintenance. Large contractor trucks will haul material back and forth to the levee. The parking lot and access to the Snake River bridge pathway will remain open, and a person will be at the gate to ensure user safety. A fence will be erected to channel bicyclists through the area out of harms way from the trucks.
