The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reports that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has remained unchanged from May to June at 5.4%. Wyoming’s unemployment rate has stayed within the narrow range of 5.1% to 5.4% in each of the past nine months and is slightly lower than the current U.S. unemployment rate of 5.9%.
Last year, Wyoming’s unemployment rate at this time was 7.4%. Not surprisingly, jobless rates from May to June fell from 6.0% to 3.9% in Teton County, and from 4.6% to 4.5% in Park County with the onset of the summer tourist season.
Teton County had the second lowest jobless rate in the state last month while neighboring Sublette County had the third highest rate at 6.9%. Teton County, Idaho reports an unemployment rate of 2.8%.
