Enzi service draws crowd

Former Wyoming US Senator Mike Enzi’s memorial service in Gillette Friday was one for the records. According to the Cowboy State Daily, no fewer than 20 US Senators – both Republican and Democrat, and both sitting and retired – from across the country traveled to attend the service.
Wyoming Senator John Barrasso says that is unprecedented. Additionally, all of Wyoming’s living governors were on hand for the service. Altogether, The Cowboy State Daily reports the service was attended by about 2000 people including the US leaders, current and retired state legislators, constituents and family.
Senator Enzi suffered serious injuries including a broken neck July 23rdas he was riding his bicycle near his home in Gillette. He was flown to University Hospital in Loveland, Colorado where he died three days later. Enzi was hailed as a problem solver and unifying influence in the Senate. He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Diana and their three children and four grandchildren.
