Fall Clean-Up Day Friday

Have you raked up the leaves in your yard yet? If so, you may be puzzling what to do with them now. Jackson and Teton County are observing fall clean-up day Friday and that yard waste can be taken to either the trash transfer station or the rodeo grounds at no charge. If you haven’t done so already, pick up composting bags at the recycling center, Town Hall, or Public Works. Then fill them with yard waste and drop them off at the rodeo grounds between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm Friday. Individuals dropping off yard waste will be asked to empty their own bags. Plastic bags are not permitted. Limbs and branches can be brought bagless. Yard waste will be locally composted, not buried in a landfill. Additionally, yard waste can be dropped off all week at the Trash Transfer Station. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm or Saturday 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. During the week, the Transfer Station will accept the first 500 pounds of residential yard waste free, and after 500 pounds the charge is 4¢ per pound.
