In a commendable recognition of its commitment to workplace safety, Fall River Electric Cooperative has recently clinched a prestigious second-place safety award. The award was presented by the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) during their 2024 Engineering and Operations Conference held in Tacoma, Washington.
This accolade is particularly significant as it evaluates electric utilities based on their exposure hours, which for Fall River Electric ranged between 50,000 to 80,000 this past year. The assessment criteria included a thorough review of each utility’s safety form, coupled with the number of recordable injury or illness cases and lost workdays in 2023. Notably, Fall River Electric was the only Idaho-based electric cooperative to be honored at this event.

Fall River Electric serves a tri-state area, providing over 19,000 connections to more than 15,000 owner-members in Idaho, western Wyoming, and southwest Montana. As a customer-owned, nonprofit utility, its dedication not only spans to providing reliable energy economically but also ensuring that the service is delivered safely.
This recognition by NWPPA underscores Fall River Electric’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and highlights its position as a leader in safety within the utility sector. It’s a testament to their meticulous attention to safety protocols and their value for every employee’s wellbeing.
