One person is dead and a Park County, Montana sheriff’s deputy is hospitalized after a head-on collision between Gardiner and Livingston Friday night. According to Park County Sheriff Brad Bichler, the accident occurred on Hwy 89-S just before midnight. Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and evidence thus far has revealed that the passenger car left its lane of travel and collided with the deputy in his lane. The reason for the vehicle leaving its lane has not yet been determined. Sheriff Bichler says the driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene and the Deputy involved was flown by air ambulance to Billings. The accident is still under investigation and the names have not yet been released.
