The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City has announced it is cancelling its annual economic policy symposium that been held in Jackson Hole since 1981. When Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park, which has traditionally hosted the event, announced it would not be opening this summer, it immediately eliminated a key part of the symposium’s tradition. The bank said this year’s symposium, entitled “Navigating the Decade Ahead: Implications for Monetary Policy,” will instead be hosted online on August 27th and 28th. It will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend.
