Changes at the Teton County Trash Transfer Station to disposal costs for trash, yard waste, manure, construction and demolition waste, dimensional lumber, household hazardous waste, and grease trap waste began Wednesday. Meanwhile, Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling continues to offer composting and reuse services for yard waste, weeds/grass and dimensional lumber. This program diverts over 9000 tons per year from the landfill, recovering valuable organic resources and minimizing the environmental impact of transporting and burying these materials. ISWR is still on track to implement commercial food waste composting in spring/summer 2020, thereby composting and diverting even more from the landfill. A $5 minimum fee per visit is still in effect at the Trash Transfer Station. This policy is intended to encourage customers to consolidate material loads, to increase efficiency and minimize traffic delays at the facility. Household hazardous waste disposal fees have also been increased, the first increase in over ten years. Hazardous waste is not accepted with landfill bound material.
