The Teton County Wyoming Search and Rescue team received a call regarding an injured mountain biker near the top of the Ferrins trail Tuesday evening. The patient had been riding his bike when he hit a rock and took a hard fall. He reported to dispatch that he believed he hit his head, and was rather confident he broke his collar bone, which was an elevated concern due to a pre-existing medical condition. A team immediately responded with a Side-by-Side UTV up the Snow King access road. Other ground teams approached by way of the Hagen and Ferrins trails on bikes and foot. The UTV team arrived at the top of Snow King approximately 20 minutes after the page. Just before 7:00 pm, the patient was loaded into the back of the UTV and transported down Snow King to his waiting family at the base of the mountain. The team’s report says all proper personal protective equipment was worn by responders and patient to prevent exposure to the coronavirus. This marks the fifth mountain bike rescue for Teton County Search and Rescue since June 1st.
