A Type 3 firefighting team has been ordered to suppress a new fire located about half-way between Pinedale and Afton on the Big Piney Ranger District of Bridger-Teton National Forest.
The Soda Lake Fire is actively burning with a current size estimated around 35 acres and active fire behavior. Cause of the fire is still unknown.
This is an emerging incident, the Bridger-Teton National Forest will provide information as it becomes available; but in the meantime, the forest asks that the public stay out of the area to allow ground and aviation resources the space they need to operate safely.
