A human-caused fire scorched approximately four acres near the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. According to a park service report, the fire was reported about 6:00 pm and was confined to the grass and sage between the North Entrance Station and the Gardner River. Personnel from Yellowstone National Park, the town of Gardiner, and Paradise Valley joined forces to douse the fire. The fire s under investigation, and anyone who was in the area on Friday evening and has information about people using the picnic area near the entrance station is encouraged to call the park’s 24-hour Tip Line at 307-344-2132.
